Katherine first met Jeff during an interview at Presbyterian hospital. It wasn't your typical "love at first sight" moment. Of course both felt the electricity, however each managed to dismiss the feeling once she had obtained the job for which she was applying. After months of ‘trying’ to ignore each other, the two developed a close friendship.
In time, Jeff asked Katherine on a date. Of course she would say no, but Katherine was not aware how persistent Jeff could be. After months of trying, Jeff was granted his date. The two would visit a local grill where they talked for hours. The night concluded alongside a fountain, and Jeff making Katherine laugh more than she had in a very long time.
By Christmas the two would decide to formalize their relationship, each knowing their adventure had just begun.
Once Katherine had been accepted to school, the couple decided to embark on one last trip to Gettysburg before her program started. During their travels, Jeff mentioned his desire to have a formal dinner while in Gettysburg, While in town the two would ‘stumble’ upon a long time friend of Jeff’s. Joe ‘Jeff would explain” is a foodie, and the perfect person to recommend an eatery for their formal dining experience. Joe would go on to describe a restaurant called Volt in Frederick, Maryland. Jeff of course 'booked' a reservation for the following night.
Suffice to say the food and wine pairing of the tasting menu was amazing, the atmosphere, phenomenal. For dessert, a waiter delivered a silver covered dish in front of the lovely couple. Upon removing the lid, Katherine found herself staring at a beautiful engagement ring. In the blink of an eye Jeff had positioned himself alongside the table.
Taking a knee, he informed Katherine, "the past two years have been the most incredible of my life, and I look to ensure we spend the next 50 years as happy as we are now. Katherine, will you marry me?"
Spoiler: She said yes.
The restaurant staff had been prepped for this moment. As the champagne poured, the two would share a perfect moment gazing into one another’s eyes.
